In addition each child will receive a certificate of completion for participating in one of the sessions!!

It’s your turn teens and adults! There will be 3 different self defense seminars free to our students and the public. Please invite all your friends and family that could benefit from self defense training.

12:00pm Women’s self defense/SHARP training
SHARP (sexual harassment, assault, and rape prevention) has been specifically designed to meet the needs of women when control methods and assault prevention methods are required. You will utilize efficient and effective methods of subject control that do NOT rely on size and strength. Prevention Psychology teaches participants mental awareness and tips on preventing certain situations from occurring. Control Techniques cover low level physical responses that can prevent unwanted physical advances. Sexual Assault Countermeasures teach the participant ways to escape a physical or sexual assault.

1:00pm Family Self Defense
Have you ever wondered what to do with your child or loved one when you encounter a dangerous situation? This training will give families the tool set they need to protect the family first. All of this training will be focused on the details of how your team should respond during a situation in various group sizes ex:1 adult-1child, 2 adults-1 child, 2 adults-2 children).

2:00pm General Teen/Adult Self Defense
Learn to defend yourself against hostile actions, avoid injury, and quickly overcome your assailant. M.Y. Martial Arts will address aggressive acts, such as punches, chokes, bear hugs, headlocks, ground attacks, multiple assailants and weapon defense. Techniques will be based on instinctive movements and utilize gross motor skills. You will apply the principles and techniques in a multitude of situations such as dark surroundings; sitting or lying position; limited freedom or movement; or under extreme stress and fatigue.
